Founded in 1989, the EPMA (European Powder Metallurgy Association) aims to promote and support the development and application of Powder Metallurgy. Every year, it organizes a Summer School in different European locations, featuring an intensive program of theoretical and practical lessons led by leading academics and industry experts in Europe. This event provides participants with a valuable opportunity to expand their knowledge of the advantages and limitations of Powder Metallurgy through interactions with senior figures in the field.

Our Participation in the 2019 Edition

In 2019, our Powder Production Manager, Mattia Garabelli, attended the Summer School held in Trento. This experience allowed him to acquire new knowledge and establish valuable contacts with other professionals in the sector.

2024 Edition in Alessandria

This year’s edition took place in Alessandria from July 15 to 19 and was organized in collaboration with Prof. Marco Actis Grande from the Politecnico di Torino. The event was held at the Chamber of Commerce of Alessandria (Italy) and the laboratories of the Alessandria campus of the Politecnico di Torino, providing an ideal setting for learning and exchanging ideas.

Presentation by Gian Pietro De Gaudenzi

Our Head of Lab and R&D Department, Dr Gian Pietro De Gaudenzi, had the honor of participating as a speaker, presenting a paper titled “ResQTool Project” (https://www.omcd.it/films/en/resqtool-project/) an innovative project co-financed by the European Union that our company FILMS is carrying out in collaboration with other companies in the sector. The ResQTool Project (https://www.resqtool.eu/) aims to improve quality control techniques and recovery methods in the production of metal powders, with the goal of optimizing production processes, reducing waste and increasing sustainability. The project provides practical and technological solutions to address the challenges of modern Powder Metallurgy, helping to improve the efficiency and reliability of industrial productions.

We are grateful to EPMA for the opportunity to contribute and support initiatives that promote excellence and innovation in our sector.
