We are pleased to announce that FILMS has successfully completed the construction and installation of a new photovoltaic system at its headquarters. This project represents an important new milestone in our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and technological innovation.
The system is designed to maximize the use of solar energy, significantly contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions and decreasing energy costs. Thanks to the use of state-of-the-art solar panels, the system will be able to produce enough energy to cover a portion of our company’s energy needs.
Key features of the photovoltaic system:
- Installed Capacity: The system has a capacity of 265 kWp, which will enable the production of approximately 250 MWh per year (equivalent to the annual consumption of about 120 households).
- Advanced Technology: It uses high-efficiency photovoltaic panels, capable of ensuring optimal performance even in low light conditions.
- Environmental Sustainability: It is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by over 75 tons per year, significantly contributing to the fight against climate change.
This new system adds to the 50 kWp system that has been present for 15 years at our subsidiary Harditalia, in the province of Varese, and the 100 kWp system already installed and operational at our Celsia plant. The latter, inaugurated last year, has already proven to be a key element in our sustainable energy strategy, with an annual production capacity of about 100 MWh and a reduction in CO2 emissions of approximately 30 tons per year.
This achievement would not have been possible without the valuable contribution of our technical partners and our internal team, who worked with dedication and professionalism to complete the project on schedule and to high-quality standards.
The commissioning of these photovoltaic systems not only represents a significant step forward for FILMS but also demonstrates our commitment to a greener and more sustainable future. We will continue to invest in innovative solutions that allow us to reduce our environmental impact and promote responsible business practices.
These two plants will be followed, in 2025, by the installation of a 1.600kWp photovoltaic plant at our Premosello Chiovenda site, thanks to funding obtained through the PNRR ‘Production of hydrogen in disused industrial areas’ grant.
We invite all our collaborators, customers and partners to celebrate this important milestone with us and to continue supporting our efforts for a more sustainable world.
