Drawing is a continuous forming process in which a wire, bar or tube is passed through one or more dies in order to achieve a given shape with tight dimensional and geometric tolerances.
The main characteristic of Hard Metal used in this application is its hardness. A high level of hardness guarantees maximum resistance to abrasion and a good polishing of the tool, necessary to minimize the friction generated by the sliding of the drawing and the consequent wear.
Rough nibs for wire drawing (steel core and CO2 welding)
We offer rough nibs made with both cylindrical and conical outer shape and hole shapes according to DIN, ISO and GOST standards. Our nibs are manufactured with tight dimensional tolerances, absolute repeatability and low roughness to ensure an easy finish.Recommended Hard Metal Quality: H78F, H75X
Rough nibs for drawing of bars and pipes
We offer rough nibs customized in shape and size. Thanks to the application experience gained within the OMCD group, we differentiate the executions according to the tube or bar drawing, the reduction to be made and the type of material processed (ferrous or non-ferrous). We also offer support in the choice of the best Hard Metal grade to optimize performance.Recommended Hard Metal Quality: H78F, H75X, J57C, J55F
Mandrels
We offer custom shaped blanks for the production of pipe calibration mandrels. As for nibs, we provide our support for the choice of the right grade of Hard Metal.Recommended Hard Metal Quality: J55F, K39F
Wire guide bushings
In addition to the product range for drawing, we manufacture wire guide bushings and wire straighteners. In addition to the classic cylindrical bushings, we also supply half bushings or saddles and radial slides. Knowing that they are often used without grinding operations, with the exception of polishing the hole, we guarantee that our blanks meet very tight dimensional and geometric tolerances.Recommended Hard Metal Quality: H78F, J55F, K34B, K18F
