On Monday, April 14, 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming two classes from the IIS Cobianchi of Verbania – specializing in Environmental Biotechnology and Chemistry and Materials – to our plant in Premosello Chiovenda.
The day had a clear educational purpose: to offer students a hands-on overview of our projects related to sustainability and the circular economy, topics that are highly relevant and closely connected to their field of study.
A content-rich program
- Dr. Gian Pietro De Gaudenzi presented the European projects RESQTOOL and MESCEL, focused on the recovery of critical raw materials from Hard Metal scrap, highlighting the practical potential of sustainable resource management.
- Eng. Anna Realini explored the topic of hydrogen as an energy carrier, analyzing the related technologies, environmental benefits, and economic outlook.
- Eng. Mattia Garabelli introduced the Green Hydrogen project by OMCD Tek Hub, an initiative that includes the construction of a green hydrogen production plant right here in Premosello Chiovenda, aligned with European decarbonization goals.
- Following that, Gian Maria Passoni explained the regulatory framework related to recovery plants and hydrogen production, giving students a clear overview of the responsibilities and regulatory challenges associated with these technologies.
The students had the opportunity to tour the facilities and see firsthand the technologies discussed in the morning sessions – a concrete opportunity to experience how innovation is applied in the field and to engage directly with our experts.
School-business synergy for the future of our territory
This initiative was an important opportunity to bring young people closer to the industrial world, where investments in research, innovation, and clean technologies are shaping the future. At the same time, it strengthened the connection between schools and companies within our local area.
At OMCD Group, we firmly believe that school-business interaction is a key factor in developing real, useful, and transferable skills, as well as in building an industrial community that is aware and ready to tackle the challenges of the ecological and digital transition.
A heartfelt thank you to the teachers and students of IIS Cobianchi for their participation, interest, and enthusiastic engagement throughout the day!
